MTX Parts are proud to announce their ongoing partnership with top-tier Australian race team, Empire Motorsports Kawasaki for 2023.
An official collaboration with Kawasaki Motors Australia, Empire Motorsports Kawasaki is made up of a motocross division and an off-road division. Their stable of talented motocross racers includes #386 Haruki Yokoyama (MX2), #10 Taylah McCutcheon (MXW), and #82 Cambell Williams (MX3), while on the off-road side they have #50 Will Price, and #409 Matt Ryan.
Original MX2 signing, #44 Jai Constantinou unfortunately suffered a broken leg prior to the season opener, with multi-time New Zealand champion and highly accomplished international rider, #121 Cody Cooper stepping in at Round 1 of the Australian Pro Motocross Nationals in Wonthaggi. Taylah McCutcheon also sadly failed to launch at Round 1 — picking up a foot injury prior to the first MXW round at Wonthaggi.
“We’re excited to be partnered with Empire Motorsports,” said Luke Mason, Group Marketing Manager of Whites Powersports — MTX’s Australasian distributor. “As a premier manufacturer of off-road and motocross hard parts, it’s important for us to expose MTX products to the rigours of domestic and world championship race series.
“When teams like Empire Motorsports Kawasaki run our parts in their testing schedules and top-level championships, it provides invaluable data and rider feedback that gets fed into MTX’s ongoing research, design, and development loop.”
Empire Motorsports Kawasaki Team Manager/Owner, Tyson Cherry commented, “Empire Kawasaki is stoked to be continuing our strong relationship with MTX in the 2023 season. We’ll be running a mixture of MTX’s Hornet Lightweight Steel Sprockets and Zero Aluminium Sprockets during the season, depending on track conditions and rider preference.”
Hamstrung by injuries, the motocross team will soldier on at round two of the Australian Pro Nationals this weekend at Appin, New South Wales, with #386 Haruki Yokoyama and #121 Cody Cooper lining up in MX2, and #82 Cambell Williams competing in MX3.
Currently injured #10 Taylah McCutcheon will start her season at round 2 of the MXW series when the Pro MX community visits Gillman, South Australia on 28 May.
Off-road racers Will Price and Matt Ryan will be busy in 2023, piloting their MTX-driven Kawasakis throughout their Australian Off-Road Championship, Victorian Off-Road Championship, GNCC, Hattah Desert Race, and Australian Four-Day Enduro campaigns.
